Our History

The Black Community Health & Wellness Association (BCHWA) was founded as a response to the significant challenges encountered by its founders within the Nevada healthcare system. Recognizing a pervasive need for more equitable and holistic care, especially in Black and minority communities which are frequently underserved, our founders envisioned an organization dedicated to addressing these critical disparities.

The inception of BCHWA marked a pivotal step towards transforming healthcare experiences for these communities. Established with the core mission to serve as a beacon of support, the Association focuses on prevention, advocacy, education, and the direct provision of services. We are committed to uplifting and empowering individuals through comprehensive health initiatives and culturally sensitive care tailored to the unique needs of our communities.

Since our founding, BCHWA has grown into a vital resource, advocating for systemic changes while also providing immediate support and education to improve health outcomes. Our efforts are rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare and wellness resources, and we continue to work tirelessly to make this a reality for each member of our community.
