Reuben D'Silva represents Nevada's 28th district in the Assembly and educates at the Clark County School District. His journey began in Mumbai, India, where he was born before immigrating to the United States as a toddler. He attended Rancho High School, serving as Senior Class President, and graduated in 2003. Reuben then pursued higher education at the College of Southern Nevada and subsequently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

His academic journey continued at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), which was interrupted when he was deployed to Iraq. On June 6, 2007, while serving as a turret gunner in Fallujah, Reuben's convoy was attacked, and he sustained injuries but heroically returned fire to protect his team. For his bravery, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Naval Achievement Medal.

After spending a year recovering in a military hospital, Reuben was medically discharged from the Marine Corps and returned to UNLV, where he earned a bachelor's degree in history. He furthered his education with a master’s degree in Global Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and another master's in Comparative Religion and Politics from Yale University.

Choosing to invest in his community, Reuben declined job offers outside Nevada to teach History at his alma mater, Rancho High School. Here, he also coaches girls' basketball, advises student clubs, and promotes comprehensive educational pathways. Reuben's teaching style, blending rigor with compassion, has made him a respected figure among students and peers.

In addition to his teaching and legislative roles, Reuben has been an active community organizer and volunteer across multiple states. He has served as Western Regional Director of Social Action for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and as Alumni Director of Education. His civic engagement includes appointments by U.S. Senator Harry Reid to Nevada’s Military Academy Selection Committee and as a Trustee for the City of North Las Vegas Library District by City Councilman Isaac Barron. A practicing Roman Catholic, Reuben is also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
